Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' debut female singer on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her first single was released with the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her music online including her independent single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. In the following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. She officially was signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she co-wrote with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared as a guest on two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. Then on the 9th of November 2018 she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November, 13 the singer released two new singles, titled The No One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019 a music video was released for the song. It has already received nearly three millions views on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018, she performed as a supporting act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
